🚶♂️ Where We Start
We meet at Crossborough Hill Car Park, right next to War Memorial Park.
🕒 Walk Directions & Timings
0:00–0:05 – Leaving the Car Park - Exit via the eastern side, Continue past the tennis courts, Head towards the subway
0:05–0:10 – Walking to Black Dam - Turn left before the subway, Walk down the tree-lined avenue,Cross the road using the pedestrian island, Cross the bridge, Take the steps down into Black Dam (or the ramp if preferred)
0:15–0:35 – Black Dam Ponds Loop - We Will see:
- A small wooden bridge
- A big pond full of ducks and swans
- A duck-feeding platform
- Picnic spots
- Wildlife viewing points
- Reed beds
- Herons and kingfishers are often seen here.
0:35–0:45 – Returning to the Park - Cross back over the bridge, Up the steps, Across the road, Walk along the tree avenue, Re-enter War Memorial Park
0:45–0:58 – Exploring the Park - Walk through:
- Open memorial lawns
- Seasonal flower beds
- Mature avenue trees
- Cricket and football pitches
- The play area
0:58–1:00 – Finishing the Walk - Head back to Crossborough Hill Car Park
