Free, Friendly Mental Health Walks in Basingstoke
Peer Support for Anxiety, Depression, Loneliness & Wellbeing
💛 You’re not alone — we walk together.
If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, overwhelm, or low confidence, our free community mental health walks in Basingstoke offer a gentle and welcoming way to reconnect. There’s no pressure to talk, no judgement, and no expectations — just fresh air, friendly faces, and a supportive space to breathe.
Our peer support walking groups help people improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and connect with others who understand.
We’re a local volunteer-led mental health community supporting people across Basingstoke and Deane through simple but powerful peer support: walking side by side.
Everyone is welcome — whether you want to chat, listen, walk quietly, or simply enjoy being outdoors with supportive people.
Take a positive step for your mental health and discover the power of walking together. 💚
Thinking about coming for the first time?
You can come on your own.
You don't need to bring a friend or know anybody in advance.
You don't have to talk.
Some people enjoy chatting. Some prefer to listen. Some people just walk quietly. There's no expectation that you share anything personal.
You don't have to be fit.
These aren't fitness walks or races. We walk at a comfortable pace and the aim is to spend some time together, not to achieve a particular distance or speed.
You can take a break.
If you become overwhelmed, need to stop for a while or decide you'd rather leave, that's okay. You won't be judged and you won't be letting anyone down.
You don't have to commit to anything.
Come along once and see how you feel. If you decide you'd like to come again, we'd love to see you.

What happens when you arrive?
You don't need to know what to do.
I will be there to welcome people and help you get settled.
We'll explain where we're going and then set off together at a comfortable pace.
You can talk if you want to, but you don't have to.
There is no group therapy, no requirement to introduce yourself, and no expectation that you tell us about your mental health.
It's simply people walking together.
